The All Souls Church website now has an RSS 2.0 feed that you can subscribe to using a suitable RSS reader. The url of the feed is:
http://www.allsouls.org/ascm/allsouls/static/rss.xml
You may need to cut and paste this link into your RSS reader if your web browser does not understand RSS.
What is RSS?
RSS is a technology that has been around on the internet for a number of years, but has recently gained in popularity. It allows you to monitor a number of websites for new content (www.allsouls.org now included) without actually visiting the websites.
To use RSS, you need an RSS reader (or "aggregator" - because it aggregates the contents of many sites onto one page), which is a piece of software that resides on your computer. There are also RSS websites such as www.bloglines.com which will do the same thing.
The RSS reader will check all sites you have subscribed to on a regular basis to see if there are any new pages. If there are, these pages will be flagged up to you, and you can usually navigate to the new page by clicking a link in the RSS reader.
Where can I download an RSS reader from?
Whilst there are a small number of popular web browsers used today, there are a large number of RSS readers. Indeed, Firefox and Safari are both able to act as RSS aggregators. We do not recommend any particular reader, but typing "rss reader" into a search engine is a good starting point.
What does the allsouls.org RSS feed contain?
We list any new pages published in the last two weeks. Unfortunately we are currently unable to publish the details of new sermons which have been added to the archive, as well as any dynamic information, such as new events in the diary. If you wish to subscribe to these updates, we recommend that you sign up to the weekly email (you need a free registration for this). Any pages updated in the preceding week are also listed in this email.
