Through the many programmes that we offer at All Souls Clubhouse youth project our aims are to involve young people from a wide section of the community and develop them socially, offering support in education and employability which they can take away and use throughout their lives.
By working with people from a young age throughout their teenage years, the Clubhouse provides young people with engaging opportunities and preventative strategies to avoid crime and antisocial behaviour. We seek to identify the root causes of problems and thus dealing with the causes of the problem rather than the symptoms. Specific activities are also developed to ensure the inclusion of young women, and young people with disabilities.
Activities
We aim to make sports activities fun and accessible to all regardless of skill and ability, as well as develop programme for individuals with inherent sports skills by establishing training sessions and organised tournaments. We also offer internet access, and our music session is very popular with many young people regularly asking for longer sessions. Our Young Women’s group specifically looks at empowering young women in tackling issues relevant to women and their culture.
We would like to develop a wider programme for Arts and performing Arts especially within the juniors and seniors sessions of our youth clubs. We would also like to support more Integration work with young people with disability and able bodied young people to have fun while learning new skills.
Residentials
Residentials give young people the opportunity to discover themselves and explore their norms and beliefs. We would like to be more aware of our European neighbours, and perhaps run ski excursions to France and Italy. We also seek an extensive cultural exchange trips to Africa and USA. This summer some of our youth group are going on a residential to Kenya.
