Thursdays 4, 11, 18 and 25 February 7pm - 9pm at the Blue Lounge, St. Paul's, Robert Adam St.

This is a four week course given by Christian professionals in the relevant fields. It is for those facing workplace change or job loss themselves or helping others in that situation and is a response to the issues and needs facing many in the current financial climates.

Each week will contain specific practical content and will stand alone but the aim is that all four will build towards a whole. Individuals will gain most by attending all the sessions. In order to help us prepare materials we are asking people to book in advance.

There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion  and questions and numbers will be limited to ensure that this is possible.

You do not need any specific experience to come on the course and you are welcome whether you are a Christian or do not consider yourself a believer.

Managing the emotional impact of change                     Thursday Feb 4

Looking at how redundancy and other changes in working life affect our emotions, sense of identity and relationships with friends and family members. We will be looking at managing the day realities enabling us to deal more effectively with a job search or remaining in a difficult working environment.

Managing choice in a changing context                           Thursday Feb 11

Looking at the building blocks of work and career particularly when faced with choice (or apparent lack of it) in a rapidly changing workplace landscape. Start points in understanding our skills, strengths and the experience we offer and in identifying what motivates us at work in order to be able to move forward.

Managing the practical impact of change                        Thursday Feb 18

Working through the practical impact of redundancy or other work related changes including managing our finances. Helping us understand approaches to budgets and benefits

Managing plans for the future                                           Thursday Feb 25

Understanding how to manage planning for the future. Developing effective job search skills in the changing world of recruitment. Start points for preparing CV's, interviews and job search skills to enable us to sell more effectively the skills, strengths and experience we offer.
