Springboard is designed to move us from where we are now regardless of Christian experience to where we reflect on our Christian experience so far and invest in life long patterns of spiritual growth. It encourages us to see ourselves less as mainly recipients at church and more as a multiplying body of gospel workers.
Who is this for?
Any Christian from anywhere with a desire to grow and to serve in order to live out the Great Commission.
Why do we need to make disciples?
1. It is the last major command Jesus gave his disciples before he went back to heaven. Jesus commands us to make disciples not converts only - see Matt 28:18ff
2. It is the way to mature the church by ensuring God's people are properly equipped to serve. Maturing disciples tend to disciple others leading to multiplication of disciples
3. Meetings on their own are not sufficient. People go to meetings but don't meet. They are moved but they don't move. Discipleship helps us to bridge the divide between theology and practice
4. A Christian world view is taught and caught by example
5. There is no better way to ensure that your life as a Christian has depth than through discipleship
