David Turner is a regular member of the All Souls preaching team. He became Reader in 1981 and served as a Churchwarden from 1983 till 2006.
He was born in Londonderry in 1954 and came to London to study law at King's College in 1972. He joined All Souls as a student and has been a member ever since. Irish Presbyterian by background, he joined the Church of England in 1978. He was a QC with a predominantly family practice. He is now a Circuit Judge, sitting at Chelmsford Crown Court and the Royal Courts of Justice in London.
He is Chancellor of the Diocese of Chester and Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of London. He is a trustee of the Langham Partnerships (UK and Ireland), the St Paul's Trust and the London Lectures Trust.
He married Jean in 1978 and they have two sons, Robert and Richard. He enjoys reading, travel, amateur geology and television.
