The Crown as Patron wishes to appoint a

for All Souls Langham Place

All Souls Langham Place is looking for a new Rector to lead us as we seek to live out our vision to be “All for Jesus”.

In the heart of London’s West End, All Souls is a conservative, Anglican evangelical Church. We are deeply grateful for a diverse and international Church family with approximately two thousand gathering across our three main services pre-lockdown. We have a rich heritage and an exciting location and seek to use all God has given us in the extension of Christ’s Kingdom.

We are looking for a godly and gracious, Christ-dependent man who shares our biblical and theological convictions and wholeheartedly embraces the breadth of our ministry and missional convictions. He will be a Rector who:

  • Has a pastoral heart and is personally growing in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour.
  • Is committed to sharing the gospel through the church and their own personal relationships.
  • Has strength of character, intellect, courage and resilience to speak the truth in love in preaching and one-to-one conversations both engaging with the culture and the wider evangelical church.
  • Is a Bible teacher with a proven track record of faithful expository preaching that connects with our everyday lives.
  • Has experience in leading in a diverse and multi-cultural context.
  • A team leader able to bring people together, with an appreciation of good management and strategy within the church, and a willingness to engage fully with the Diocese.
  • An enthusiast with a heart to communicate God’s unchanging gospel in our changing and fast-paced world across different media.
  • Discerns and develops the gifts and talents of leaders both lay and ordained.

All Souls receives the oversight of the Bishop of Maidstone under the provisions of the Diocesan ‘London Plan’.

We are committed to be collegial with other local churches, to share our resources with those in need and to play our part in the Diocesan vision for every Londoner to encounter the love of God in Christ.

Parish Profile and application pack are available from
The Bishop of London’s Office

Closing date for applications: 12 noon on 17 September 2020
Interviews to be held: 14 October 2020 (first round) and 26 October 2020 (final stage)

In the Diocese of London, we are aware that people of colour are currently under-represented among our clergy and so we particularly encourage applications from this group. Appointment will of course be based on merit alone. Enhanced DBS will be required.
