Projects We Supported

Together as a church family, as we partner with believers around the world, we are reaching the least reached in Central Asia, training bible teachers in Kenya, seeking justice for those vulnerable to exploitation in India, showing love and compassion to those in need of medical care in Zambia, and empowering the poor in Tanzania by helping them cultivate and care for their agricultural land in sustainable ways.

This is just a snapshot of all that we have been privileged to share in through our giving to partners through the World Mission Fund in 2019-20:

  • Seed funding for a specialist team leader based in Newham to reach out with the gospel to young people involved in gangs and at real risk from knife crime (London City Mission).
  • A Bible study series to envision, equip, and empower ordinary Christians to be missionary disciples where God has placed them out on their daily frontlines (LICC).
  • Translation, contextualisation and launching of Christianity Explored materials in Ukraine, Angola and a sensitive country.
  • Seeing churches in the Majority World equipped for mission and growing to maturity in Christ through the ministry of pastors and leaders who believe, teach and live by the Word of God (Langham Partnership).
  • Supporting vulnerable women and children in India and equipping local pastors as they reach local communities.
  • Translation of Uncover Mark into Chinese to reach Chinese students in the UK and to encourage Christian students (whether they speak Chinese or not) to study a gospel with them. A bilingual resource (UCCF, Friends International & COCM).
  • Two marquees for Adventure Plus in Oxfordshire. This gave them vital outdoor meeting space as they were able to run two youth camps during the pandemic this summer.
  • Developing resources to help disciple believers from Muslim backgrounds, over the next 20-30 years, to be at the frontlines of world mission and cross cultural church planting.
  • Distribution of scripture calendars in the Middle East to sow the seed of God’s living word.
  • Making ELWA radio in Liberia operational again. ELWA, Africa’s first Christian radio station, seeks to restore hope and mend broken and shattered lives through sharing the gospel.
  • Emergency relief efforts following the explosion in Beirut. Salary for a social worker to work alongside and support refugee families (Resurrection Church).
  • Caring for people through unplanned pregnancy and beyond (Choices Islington).
  • Sharing the gospel with migrants and refugees in Europe (#HowWillTheyHear / SIM)
  • Rescuing victims of slavery in India, bringing criminals to justice, restoring survivors, and strengthening justice systems. Recently 360 children, women and men were freed from a brick kiln where they had been made to work under debt bondage (IJM).
  • Providing a happy, healthy and safe environment to educate the children of a minority group in South Asia who have suffered atrocities in recent years.
  • Caring for the poor, the marginalised, the sick, the bereaved, the orphaned and the forgotten in Zimbabwe (Zimonya).
  • Encouraging individuals and communities to think about their use of the environment and develop practical ways to care for people and the planet, locally and globally (A Rocha)
  • Working with adolescents in youth prisons in Brazil to break the vicious circle of crime and drug abuse (The Eagle Project).
  • Supporting persecuted Christians around the world through Open Doors, Release International, Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust and Christian Solidarity Worldwide.
  • Translating the Bible into languages spoken by the Aru people in Eastern Indonesia (Wycliffe).
  • Provision of food parcels, seeds and tools for farmers, cash-for-work schemes, and counselling support for those at risk of famine in Yemen (Tearfund).
